Following the announcement of Peter “ppd” Dager’s retirement and the dissolution of the former roster, we are thrilled to reveal 5 new players to represent Ninjas in Pyjamas.
As of today, the players of ex-Chicken Fighters Charlie “CharlieDota” Arat, Ondřej “Supream^” Štarha, Jonáš “SabeRLight-” Volek, Adrian “Era” Kryeziu, and Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev will now be playing under the NiP banner.
We would like to thank our former roster (Daxak, TANNER, Lelis) and standins (MiLAN & Blizzy) for all their hard work, dedication and for being part of shaping our legacy in DotA2. Good luck to you all.
“Thank you to Daxak, Lelis and Tanner for representing NiP in a turbulent time. They’ve been great and professional the whole way through, and I am sure they’ll find success in their next venture.
As I’ve talked about earlier, rebuilding with a core that fits the ethos and vision of where Ninjas in Pyjamas is headed, has been our main priority. Longevity and sustainability in the ecosystem of DotA2 is something we want to take an integral part in helping build out, and a stable and top performing roster is a requirement of that."
Jonas Gundersen, COO of NiP
“Chickens transformed into Ninjas. After playing for months without an organization we are thrilled to have an experienced team of professionals backing us up and helping us become better and strive for greatness! I am happy to announce that we will be part of NiP.”
Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev
The long-term NiP.DotA2 fans will notice a familiar name in the line-up. Adrian “Era” Kryeziu has a history in NiP as part of the 2015 squad and we are very excited to see him returning to our organization.
Jonas Gundersen continues:
“It’s been an ongoing process finding the right way to structure the new team, evaluating and optimising our own internal setup in the process. Sometimes when you get a clear overview, opportunities present themselves at perfect times.
The whole roster of Chicken Fighters are a great group of young players, with a perfect combination of hunger, talent, experience and a high willingness to learn. I couldn’t be more excited that they want to become part of the Ninjas in Pyjamas team, where I am sure we’ll be able to accomplish great things together.”
You’ll be able to watch our new Ninjas in action as early as tomorrow when our journey in the $250,000 WePlay! Pushka League Season 1 kicks off.
