Thank you, REZ

At NIP, we know a thing or two about legends. Over our many years in competitive Counter-Strike, we have both welcomed and said goodbye to some of the greatest names the game has ever known. No matter where their stories took them, the Ninjas of NIP never stopped being Ninjas.

Today, we are saying goodbye (for now) to perhaps the greatest legend of NIP’s modern CS era: REZ. After nearly 8 years in the team, Fredrik is taking off his Pyjamas and preparing to write the next chapter of his story. Since joining the Ninjas in 2017, REZ quickly became known as the face of the next generation of NIP. After claiming the W at IEM Masters XII in the company of legends like f0rest and Get_Right, and, famously, being named “Oakland MVP”, REZ would remain with the team across countless iterations, desperate wins, and heart-breaking losses.

“REZ always kept working hard, no matter how many curveballs were thrown his way. After speaking with Fredrik, both sides ended up feeling that 'we tried, we're happy for the great times we had together, but it's time to move on'. It warms my heart to know that we can end his great chapter at NIP as friends. We will keep following him in his career, and we will always cheer for our favorite, one of Sweden's best ever, REZ. We say goodbye to a player, a colleague, and a friend to many of us at NIP” – Erik Wendel, Director of Esports at NIP

REZ’s record-breaking stint sees him overtake f0rest as NIP’s longest-serving player ever, cementing his status as one of our all-time greats. Throughout his time with NIP, REZ has been a player others could rely on, always practicing hard and knuckling down when the going got tough. Fredrik, we cannot thank you enough for all you’ve done for this team, but we will try. Thank you for every ace, every clutch, every plant and every defuse, thank you for being a part of our story and letting us be a part of yours. You are extraordinary, and we cannot wait to tell more stories when we meet on the server again - this time on opposite ends of the map. We’ll make sure it won’t be real easy then.
