We will be a THREAT for three more years

Lukas Berć @ 2020-11-11 16:25:59 +0100

We’re extremely happy to announce that Björn “THREAT” Pers has signed up for three more years as the Head Coach of Ninjas in Pyjamas’ CS:GO roster. Since rejoining NiP in November 2019, Björn has had a massive impact on the development of our team in our efforts to rebuild NiP as yet again the dominating force in competitive CS:GO. Embodying the sensei persona we seek from our coaches, Björn’s calm encouragement has been the driving force behind our newfound resilience - see it in action for yourself in the latest installments of our NiP Backstage series.

“I am thrilled that Björn has trusted us with the next three years of his career. He’s one of the most knowledgeable coaches/IGLs in the history of the game, and embodies the values we treasure at NiP. Our vision of building a modern, top tier esports organisation, is centered around providing the best support, empowerment and performance environment for the top tier talent, both coaches and players, and I fully believe that this combination will be the foundation of championship winning teams at Ninjas in Pyjamas for decades to come.”, says Jonas Gundersen, Chief Operating Officer.

THREAT is one of the most well-respected coaches in the competitive scene, and an indisputable member of the NiP family thanks to his many years in the organization where he’s not only been a great coach but also a mentor and an excellent brand ambassador. Let’s hear what Björn has to say about this:

“I am super excited to announce that I have signed another three years with NiP. Returning to the coach position at the beginning of the year was a tough decision but I believe that with NiP’s new structure and direction we will be able to finally get Sweden back to the top of CS. I want to thank NiP for this opportunity to continue working with my biggest passion

We would also like to take this opportunity to say welcome to Danny “mahone” Hsieh, who is joining NiP as our new CS:GO analyst. Mahone will be a key addition in preparing our team for their upcoming matches by researching opponents. He’ll also support THREAT in analyzing and improving our own playbook.
