HeatoN steps down as Brand Ambassador for Ninjas in Pyjamas

Casey Al-kaisy @ 2019-08-17 10:39:34 +0200
Ninjas in Pyjamas and Emil "HeatoN" Christensen has agreed it is time to part ways. We part on the most amicable of terms in order to allow Emil to focus exclusively on building his personal brand.

Christensen has long been part of NiP and will stay on as a shareholder in the company. He will, however, no longer serve as our Brand Ambassador. The agreement is made to avoid conflicts of interest and allows Christensen to broaden his personal scope, working with brands and organizations outside of Ninjas in Pyjamas

We'll like to thank Emil Christensen for his time with Ninjas in Pyjamas, during which he has held a number of important roles at crucial times and has played a part in shaping the organization into what it is today.

Hicham Chahine, CEO of Ninjas in Pyjamas says:

Today marks the end of an amazing run for Emil Christensen here at Ninjas in Pyjamas. Without him and the 5 players which brought Ninjas in Pyjamas back to life in 2012, we would not have been here today. We are extremely grateful for his time with us, and I have personally enjoyed working with him over the years. As the business has changed and matured over the years, Emil and NiP have grown apart with time. Being part of Ninjas in Pyjamas as an ambassador and public profile has certain expectations and requirements, where both parties acknowledge and agrees that parting ways is in the best interest of both Emil and Ninjas in Pyjamas.

I am excited to continue working with Emil in a different role as he will remain a shareholder. The decision has matured over time, where we both feel it is the natural next step. Thank you for everything so far, and see you in the board room!

The Story of HeatoN
Emil Christensen's story goes back as far as 2000 where Christensen started his journey in Counter-Strike, quickly making a name for himself in the scene. By then the legendary Tommy "Potti"Ingemarsson had created a clan called Ninjas in Pyjamas, finding online and offline success in the early stages of competitive CS. But it wasn't until Christensen joined that the clan really found its form.

In 2001, Christensen and friends began their rise to stardom, taking several CPL titles home to Sweden, causing press -- both national and international -- to take notice.

Line-ups and organizations changed but HeatoN and Potti stuck together, continuing their success. Before the duo hung up their mice they had become legends in the world of Counter-Strike.

Fast forward to 2012, a press release was issued that Christensen was to return to the scene as manager and founder of an organisation proudly taking on the name Ninjas in Pyjamas. The line-up consisted of players Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund, Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg, Adam "friberg" Friberg, Richard "Xizt" Landström and Robin "Fifflaren" Johansson. The rest is as they say, history.
