Road to Esports World Cup

MAY 31ST, 2024

Friends,

We are excited to share some thrilling news: our recent partnership with the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF), through their Club Support Program, is opening up incredible new opportunities for us. Thanks in part to the program, we have been able to commit to four new titles — we've already announced Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8, entries that have been in the works for close to six months.

Today, we're adding two more. The first is a four-man Fortnite team built around long-time Ninja Refsgaard being assembled in time for Dreamhack Dallas. The second is an exciting first for NIP: Apex Legends. We have been scoping an entry into Apex for more than two years, and with the support of the EWCF we're ready to take the plunge.

With these additions, NIP Group now fields rosters in 10 out of the 19 titles featured at this year's World Cup. Of course, just having players isn't enough — we have to qualify, too. Sadly, some of our strongest teams are already out of contention: our CS2, League of Legends, Honor of Kings and Rocket League teams are all out of the running. However, that leaves six rosters that still have a shot.

There's plenty of hopium to go around in EA FC, Fortnite, Rainbow Six, Street Fighter, Tekken, and Apex. Over the next month, we invite fans to follow our squads as they fight through the remaining qualifiers in our Road to EWC series. Expect expanded coverage on our social media channels, exclusive video content and contests on the Dojo.

"The Club Support Program is a big enabler in our growth efforts. It’s not just about expanding into new titles; it’s about upholding our legacy while adapting to the dynamic world of esports. We’re incredibly grateful for the support from the EWCF, which has provided us with the momentum we need to aim for top honors in the global esports arena."

— Hicham Chahine, Ninjas in Pyjamas CEO.
