Nawwk's back!
We’re pretty damn excited to tell you all that Tim “nawwk” Jonasson is back on our active roster following his time off. For over a week, he’s been bootcamping with the rest of the team at the NiP office in Stockholm, and he’s more prepared than ever to once again master the big green rifle:
“It feels really good to be back in business. Something that I’ve learned is that it's important to take care of your body and have a healthy lifestyle, and I’m happy that NiP gave me some time off to focus on myself. We’re all very motivated about being back together to continue our journey to become the world’s best.”
Our next step on that journey is the upcoming Dreamhack RMR tournament where we play Sprout on Thursday next week. Chief Operating Officer Jonas Gundersen comments on nawwk’s return:
“I am incredibly happy to see Tim back already. He has shown a tremendous will to learn, and approached this situation with an open mind, allowing the performance team to fully support him and come out much stronger. It’s a huge kudos to both Tim, and the abilities of our performance team. I am genuinely proud of the work they’ve done.”
Jonas Gundersen continues:
“Pulling a player in the middle of one of our most valued competitions is never an easy decision, but we have to think further ahead. The requirements physically, mentally and skill wise for players to compete at the highest level today, is significantly different than they were five years ago, and they will keep moving for the next five years. Performing in-game is greatly linked to your body and mind’s general well-being, which is something esports players, now athletes, have not been exposed enough to. It’s an area we will continue to invest and educate our players in, to further develop our esports setup as one of most modern and innovative in the world.”
Welcome back Tim. Let’s create some magic together #GONINJAS
