Hampus replaces Lekr0 on the active CS:GO roster
Lukas Berć @ 2020-05-19 16:29:44 +0200Today we can announce Hampus “hampus” Poser as our newest CS:GO recruit who will be joining Ninjas in Pyjamas towards the end of the month. hampus joins the active roster as we move Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson to the bench. Our first game with hampus will be on the 28th of this month, at the upcoming Dreamhack Masters Spring tournament.
Success and trophies are a natural part of the Ninjas in Pyjamas legacy and it’s been a top priority of mine to build an esports setup that will allow us to consistently recruit, develop, and retain the highest caliber of talent. It’s in our DNA to be a team that contests for the big trophies, and we want to get back there. We have already seen a lot of promise with our new roster and it’s because of that we are now able to look further ahead and benchmark it versus our long term aspirations. The philosophy and ideologies I have around the future of esports performance, is something that I am unwilling to compromise on, and something that we constantly have to keep evolving in order to become the best, and that is why we have chosen to do a roster change. Lekr0 has done an excellent job in NiP, but sometimes a team needs to evolve in a different direction, causing a natural shift.
- Jonas Gundersen, COO at NiP
hampus, the young Swede, has seen both regional and international success in recent times and is now about to step up to the plate as the in-game leader for our CS:GO squad. We’re thrilled to have you onboard, hampus. Welcome to the NiP family.
I am very excited to have been given this opportunity to play for NiP. It really is a dream come true. I'm also looking forward to reuniting with some insanely skilled old teammates and friends and can't wait to start working and do great things together.
- Hampus “hampus” Poser
Jonas Gundersen continues:
THREAT & I decided together with our performance staff that a more natural IGL profile was needed in order to enhance and utilize the incredible amount of young talent we have. Our playbook is evolving fast and the team is putting in a lot of effort in how to establish what it means to be a pro in our forward thinking esports environment. hampus is incredibly ambitious and hard working combined with a firm and jovial attitude, that will for sure enhance what we are already doing. He has proven himself as an incredibly talented player and IGL, and we are confident that he will grab the opportunity to prove himself on the biggest stage under the NiP banner and keep up his progress.
For those eager to see hampus in action - tune in on the 28th of May to see the new roster compete in the prestigious Dreamhack Masters Spring 2020.
