Rhasta, commonly known to the Dota community as Shadow Shaman, was born in the Bleeding Hills. While he was a youngling, he was picked up by a con-man that traveled from town to town, swindling people out of their money. One day, the con-man realized that Rhasta was able to do the things that the con-man only pretended to be able to do. Eventually, their past caught up with them and the con-man was killed by the people he had tricked. Angered, Rhasta slaughtered the people that had killed his master.
Uses for Abilities
Ether Shock: Pushing or harassing the enemy team is just two of the common uses for this ability.
Hex: This is almost essential to a team fight and is sometimes used to slow down an enemy and secure a kill.
Shackles: Great for disabling an enemy and locking them into place. The only downside to using this is that you are stuck channeling it while your teammates beat down on the enemy.
Mass Serpent Ward: This ability is most commonly used for destroying towers and barracks. If you're feeling a bit salty or just want gold, have some fun and trap an enemy between all of your wards.
Force Staff: This is a good item for helping a teammate run away or forcing an enemy to fight for their life.
Eul's Scepter of Divinity: Eul's can be used while you're surrounded by the enemy team and need to wait for your team to help you out. It can also be used to stop a chase or temporarily disable an enemy.
Blink Dagger: A must-have for Shadow Shaman to initiate fights.
Guardian Greaves: Arcane Boots is the best type of footwear for Shadow Shaman because he uses up a lot of mana in the early game. Whether or not there is another support on your team, building Arcane Boots and Mekansm into Guardian Greaves can be a deciding factor in winning a team fight.
Aghanim's Scepter: If your team is swimming in gold, getting an Aghs is nice because it increases Mass Serpent Ward's damage.
Shadow Shaman's abilities make him a great support to have on any team. Like most supports, he is pretty squishy and has a lot of mana. He is one of the slower heroes (5 more movement speed than Crystal Maiden), but support items like Force Staff and Eul's Scepter of Divinity help make up for it. If you keep him safe, he is able to deal damage and lock down enemies.
