Annoucement: Ninjas in Pyjamas CS:GO Roster Change

Ninjas in Pyjamas legacy has been built upon excellent in-game results since the year of 2000. We have had a period of weaker results recently, and have been working hard on improving to deliver good results and experiences for our fans, partners and brand. The last resort is always to change players, as our colleagues are also some of our closest friends. Today we are announcing a change.

During a full evaluation process, our CS:GO coach Björn “threat” Pers, has decided to bench Jacob “pyth” Mourujärvi following the recent results. Because of the change, we have been through a recruitment process to find his replacement on the active roster. Our choice has landed on the Swedish player William “draken” Sundin, which will complete the active Ninjas in Pyjamas roster. We wish him the best of luck for his upcoming games with us. The active Ninjas in Pyjamas roster now consist of the following players:

Active roster:

* Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg

* Richard “Xizt” Landström

* Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund

* Adam “friberg” Friberg

* William “draken” Sundin

Substitute(s):

* Jacob “pyth” Mourujärvi

We are extremely grateful for Jacob’s contribution to the three major victories we won in 2016, manifesting us as one of the top performing teams during the year. Jacob has been an asset to Ninjas in Pyjamas, and we hope to see him on the active roster again in the future.

Björn “threat” Pers has the following to say about the roster change:

During the last few months our results have been below our expectations and we have not been able to find good solutions. We have tried swapping roles but we are not able to find a good balance with the current lineup. The key thing we are missing is a dedicated AWPer and that's why we're happy to announce the recruitment of William “draken” Sundin. William has been on our radar for quite a while, and with him we believe all the players can play a role they are comfortable with. During 2016, we managed to win three titles and Jacob was a crucial part of those victories winning us many rounds thanks to his explosive playstyle. However, we cannot overlook that fact that his playing style does not fit the AWPing-role but rather roles that other players in the team are currently occupying.

William “draken” Sundin on becoming part of Ninjas in Pyjamas:

Getting picked up by Ninjas in Pyjamas is a dream come true for me. One year ago, I was competing on the FaceIT platform, where I qualified for the minor in Bucharest. I have since then been working hard on improving and believe I can have an in-game impact in NiP. Even though the team has struggled a bit lately, they are still one of the top teams in the world and I am humble to have been given this opportunity. I am looking forward to getting started and prove my spot on the team!
