NiP welcomes new blood to the CS:GO roster

Following a strong start to the year where we claimed the Legends status at the Major, Ninjas in Pyjamas are determined to further improve on the competitive performance and overall consistency of the CS:GO roster long-term. To make this a reality, it is with excitement we announce changes to the team.

Please give a warm welcome to Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora. At 17 years of age, this youngster is a rising star in the Swedish CS:GO scene. Nicolas has been on our radar for a while now, and we have been very impressed by what we have seen so far. We are confident he has the potential to become one of the best players Counter-Strike has to offer. Both the team and organization are looking forward to seeing Nicolas develop with the help of our players and coaching staff, representing Ninjas in Pyjamas.

Following this move, Dennis “dennis” Edman will be moved to the bench. Since his arrival, Dennis has played a vital part in further building the NiP legacy by qualifying for not only one, but two Valve-sanctioned Majors. His contributions have been pivotal to our accomplishments in 2018 and early 2019. We would like to extend our most sincere gratitude towards you, Dennis. Thank you for your time in NiP and we wish you nothing but the best for the future.

Faruk 'pita' Pita says: "Today we embark on the journey of transforming the Counter-Strike team. To maintain a position as a top tier team, changes to the roster are needed. We have very talented players, but the roles required on the team is something we have to change to make sure we perform at a stable level over time. I am excited to take on these changes with the first step of welcoming Plopski to the team.”

Nicolas 'Plopski' Gonzalez Zamora says: I am extremely happy to be getting this opportunity. For me, this is a dream come true. Since I was a kid I have always liked this team and it has been my goal to play for them. I still can’t believe this.
My ambition is to play CS:GO and be happy doing it for as many years as possible. I want to win, to keep getting to know amazing people and work harder than ever. I feel NiP is the perfect place for me to keep pursuing my goals.
I can’t wait to start playing with these really talented players. I am sure I will learn a lot from them.

Furthermore, we have started talks with Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund regarding his future as an active CS:GO player. Together with him and the team, we have decided that he will continue competing with us until after the StarLadder Berlin Major 2019, as we start looking for a suitable long-term replacement to take his place on the active roster. Christopher is one of the legends of Counter-Strike and a vital part of NiP. We will take our time on this change to ensure we find the best replacement for him and the team, with the goal of transitioning Christopher to a different role within NiP. We will keep all fans and partners updated as we go through this transition. Please join us in celebrating one of the most storied and accomplished players at the upcoming events.

As Nicolas “Plopski” Zamora is unable to compete with us at the upcoming major due to the major rules, we will be using this opportunity to test new players in different roles. The goal is to compete for trophies at the highest level, and the changes are necessary to keep up the momentum we have gained this year.
